TulsaFest is an annual members-only event featuring a networking luncheon and educational sessions in the Tulsa area. Featuring top speakers in the industry, it's a can't-miss event! The 2022 TulsaFest will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa. 

*Important Note for Board Members: For Board Members to register for the Board Dinner and Board Meeting, you must login to register.*

Innovation Through Culture: Stories From A Decade At Google
Creating a culture of innovation doesn’t rely on new technology, platforms, tools. It relies on creative and flexible leadership.  How we measure success, engaging customers, learning from our experiences during Covid. 

Learner Outcome: Steve will share stories from a decade at Google, where he worked with the world’s most innovative brands like GoPro, FitBit, and Nest. Dive into the history of some of Google’s most iconic projects like self-driving cars and augmented reality glasses, and more importantly, understand the simple, underlying cultural principles that allowed for these innovations. Principles like Launch and Iterate, Fail Well, and Bet on Technical Insights.

As the world becomes more technologically advanced and more digitally dependent by the day, consumer behavior is changing faster than at any point in human history. Restaurants, hotels, and truly all customer-facing businesses, must work harder than ever to understand these rapidly changing consumers and to speak their language.

Learner Outcome:  Steve will share the tools operators need to rethink, rebuild and reimagine their marketing strategies with emphasis on simple, affordable options that work for any size of operation.

Speakers - 

Steve Lerch; President & Founder of StoryArc Consulting

Steve Lerch is the President and Founder of Story Arc Consulting. He’s an award winning international speaker on topics like innovation, consumer behavior, and marketing, as well as a strategy and marketing consultant. Prior to Story Arc Consulting, Steve spent 10 years at Google building the digital and marketing strategies for well known brands like GoPro, respected non-profits like the YMCA, and major branches of the federal government including FEMA and the Census. Steve also served as an innovation and culture leader at Google, teaching hundreds of employees about Google's innovation philosophy. 











 

Kathy Taylor; Dean of the Collins College of Business at the University of Tulsa

Kathy Taylor is the Dean of the Collins College of Business at the Univeristy of Tulsa. An accomplished leader, business executive and corporate attorney, Taylor has a record of transformational change and leadership in both the public and private sectors. She is also a tireless advocate for education and entrepreneurship, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion.

In addition to Taylor’s service as Oklahoma’s Secretary of Commerce and Mayor of Tulsa, she has served on several corporate boards, including Sonic Corp., Bank of Oklahoma, National Car Rental and Dollar Car Rental, as well as on various boards for professional and nonprofit organizations. Taylor is currently active on the boards of the Tulsa Public Facilities Authority; 36oN, a basecamp for entrepreneurs; StitchCrew, a business accelerator; the Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation; and VEST, a network for expanding the pipeline of women in positions of influence.

Taylor earned a BA and a JD from the University of Oklahoma. She was the inaugural recipient of the Order of the Owl, the highest honor bestowed by the OU College of Law. Taylor was a resident fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School Institute of Politics and holds honorary doctoral degrees from The University of Tulsa and Old Dominion University.
